After graduating from the University of Glasgow, Dr Patel grew his arsenal of skills in General Dentistry across northern Scotland. During this time, he was the highest-achieving trainee dentist and was honoured with the Accolade of VT Dentist of the Year North Scotland 2011/12. Dr Patel also enrolled on a 3-year postgraduate MSc training programme in Clinical Periodontology at the University of Central Lancashire, graduating with Merit in 2016. Since 2017, he has been welcoming periodontal referrals.

Through his knowledge and expertise, Dr Ikram is able to assess, plan and treat a variety of cases in both surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapy like Gum receding, Gum Disease, Gingivitis, Bleeding gums, Loose teeth and bad breath treatment in Bolton.
